Our story

From daydreamer to believer...

 

The dream of starting my own business has always played as the background music in my life. Having worked for many years, I was happy with the success I'd achieved, but it just wasn't enough.  I had a growing family with growing demands and they needed a more accessible mom, and I wanted to be that for them and for myself.  I also believed there was something more for me - something all mine that I just hadn't figured out yet.  

With three kids, a full-time job, a husband, and a home to care for, I wasn't looking for perfection in our life. We live in our home - it's not a museum.  At any given time, there are bound to be a few dusty shelves, a toy to trip over, and lots of noise.  The rooms of our home had started to become consumed by kids 'stuff'. Yes, we have a playroom. Yes, they have their bedrooms. But, where does everything seem to accumulate like a moth to a flame?  The living room! 

In my quest to somehow take back that space so when night falls I could pretend I had a nice, orderly home, I was just looking for something that would work for us.  Then one day, as I sat in my family room feeling like there had to be a better way to keep the clutter at bay, it hit me. If I'm not happy with the options out there - be them too expensive, too cheap looking, too small, or simply not my style - why don't I just design something that WILL work for me?!?

And that's how Nest & Be came to be.  

At Nest & Be, we believe your home is your retreat; a soft place to land after a long day, where the dress code is comfy pants and the ambiance is whatever you want it to be. Like a warm nest, your home should welcome you with open arms. It’s your space, where the moments are real and life unfolds – love, laughter, family and friends, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with it.

Build your nest, and be you in it.  I'm okay with some chaos... it really is beautiful after all.
